In today's global community, individuals travel all over the world to exciting destinations
and dream of "one of a kind" events. With your training from Robertson College, you
are able to help make those experiences or events special and rewarding. The Casino,
Resort, Event Coordinator program will have you career ready faster than a conventional
two year diploma program. We take a specialized approach in teaching you the basic
skills that you need to be successful in the exciting world of hospitality.
You will be exposed to the three areas (casino, resort, event coordination) and will be able to elect your
major in any of the three. Your three week work practicum will provide you with the hands-on experience
employers are looking for. Your program will also include one week in the Employment Skills course. Our
expert instructors will equip you with the tools needed to impress potential employers during your interviews,
write industry specific resumes and be prepared to answer tough interview questions.
Casino's have come along way. State of the art gaming machines and hype around card games like Texas
Hold'em Poker require skilled individuals to help facilitate game play. In this section of the program, you
will learn the in's and out's of how gaming machines work, casino terminology, game rules and security
techniques.
The casino gaming industry in Manitoba is in need of qualified individuals. Casinos are plentiful throughout
Winnipeg and rural Manitoba. With this training you will be eligible to work in a variety of key roles.

Resorts exist all over the world...from the fishing resort in Northern Manitoba to the safari resorts in Africa's Sahara desert.
Our program takes a hands-on approach in preparing you to provide world-class service to the guests that stay at these destinations.
You will learn front office operations, hospitality sales & marketing and how resorts go from being just an idea to becoming reality.

From weddings to large corporate events, event planners/coordinators help make it all happen. Working alongside the event manager, you will learn how to
execute a detailed plan to pull off the perfect event. Throughout this section of the course you will learn planning strategies and how to establish objectives,
how to motivate and lead staff and volunteers. You will also be introduced to the role of the event manager which includes responsibilities such as planning,
designing and producing an event.
