On-Campus & Online Health Care Aide Challenge
The Health Care Aide Challenge Program offered by Robertson College Online is a condensed 12-week program for experienced Health Care Professionals. The program is also offered on-line in a self paced format through Online Study.
Eligibility:
In order to qualify for the HCA Challenge Program, you must:
Have 1200 hours of experience in the last 24 months as an uncertified Health Care A ide in Canada; or be a foreign-trained Nurse*
Proof of English language proficiency test: see Application Process below
Must provide a copy of recent resume
Robertson College employee form must be completed by your employer stating hours and detailed current job description
Time:
Class takes place one evening a week for 12 weeks or at your desired schedule online. This includes practical and practicum experience to a maximum of 8 hours, which may be on weekends or at instructor’s discretion.
Application Process:
If English is a first language
Interested individuals need to:
Make an appointment to write an entrance test or provide documentation of high school diploma
fill out an application form
If English is a second language Candidates must provide the college with one of the following:
A Canadian high school diploma
Proof of English language proficiency test (e.g. CLB, IELTS, TOEFL)
Take the Robertson College English Assessment
CLB
IELTS
TOEFL
6(L),6(S),6(R),5(W)
4.0-5.0
41-60
Candidates must also complete all of the requirements for the
“English is a first language”
as noted above.
Please note:
A copy of Photo I.D. & S.I.N (Social Insurance Number), Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector search & up to date immunizations are required.
*Robertson College requires a copy of your degree. Not all foreign nursing programs are accepted. See your Career Counsellor for complete details.
