Robertson’s Health Unit Clerk program at our Winnipeg campus will prepare you to be a leader in any hospital ward. Featured Instructor – Health Unit Clerk
A graduate of Practical Nursing at Assiniboine College and licensed through the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba, Cynthia worked as a post surgical nurse at Concordia Hospital in the Orthopedic Unit for six years. She went on to teach the Practical Nursing Program at Assiniboine College and currently works casually at River East Personal Care Home in addition to her teaching duties at Robertson College.

What is a Health Unit Clerk?
Hospitals depend on trained Health Unit Clerks to help manage the day to day operations of their various wards. As a Health Unit Clerk, you are responsible for a variety of areas. When a patient is admitted or discharged, you process the necessary forms. When a test needs to be performed, you schedule it. In addition, Health Unit Clerks are typically in charge of several behind the scene tasks such as keeping the drug supply stocked, managing equipment, and relaying information between patients and staff.
