Robertson’s Medical Office Assistant program will prepare you to be a vital member of any medical office team. Our hands-on approach to teaching provides our students with real-world experience and equips them with the skills necessary to succeed. Our small class environment at our Calgary campus allows students a greater opportunity to ask questions, participate in discussion and have instructors who actually know who they are. At Robertson, you’re an important individual, not a nameless spectator.
At the end of your program, you will participate in a four week work practicum. Once your practicum has been completed, Robertson’s Career Services will work with you to ensure you find employment after you graduate. Whether it’s after grad or twenty-five years down the road, Robertson’s Career Services will be there to help you with your career.

What is a Medical Office Assistant?
Medical Office Assistants provide essential assistance to doctors by performing administrative duties and handling basic clinical tasks helping to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. They are responsible for medical records, bookkeeping, answering phones and also helping doctors examine and treat patients. This includes checking patients’ height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure. Medical Office Assistants play a vital role in the smooth operation of a variety of medical, dental, chiropractic and physiotherapy offices as well as numerous hospital departments.

Skillfully maintain patient’s medical records
Accurately take medical transcription
Provide essential phone assistance to patients
