In today's marketplace, there is a constant, growing demand for Network Engineering IT professionals. As technology in the marketplace changes, so does the skill sets that employers are after. Investing in a career that allows you to be up to date on the latest in IT will mean that you will have always leave your career doors open. This could be your reality as a Network Engineer professional. If you get great satisfaction from working with computers, exploring the latest hardware trends and like the idea of having your career doors open to many different types of industries, the Network Engineering program at Robertson College's Winnipeg campus is for you.
IT professionals such as Network Engineers, System Administrators, Network Administrators and IT Technicians help build and maintain the IT backbone for companies. They play an integral role in the installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
In Manitoba, IT professionals can expect to make between $30,200 and $79,100 per year, based on full-time employment and their employers. IT Professionals work in a variety of industries, such as transportation, education, entertainment and manufacturing. Our students have found employment as system administrators, help desk representatives and IT technicians.

IT Professionals are responsible for duties such as:
Establishing system specifications
Maintaining system performance
Securing systems
Preparing users
Upgrading systems
The Network Engineering program at Robertson College program is designed to prepare you with the skills needed to be successful in the real world. You will be introduced to a Windows 7 environment with active directories and learn how to plan, implement and maintain a server environment. At the end of your program, you will have the opportunity to challenge the Microsoft certification exams to attain your Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA: Windows Server 2008) certifications.
Each instructor for the Network Engineering program brings a wealth of knowledge and real world expertise to your learning experience. Their knowledge and experience helps you to understand and apply the concepts in class and creates a dynamic learning environment.
Throughout your program, you will participate in the Employment Skills course where you will learn how to write effective resumes for getting interviews, learn how to interview with confidence and also learn how to handle the challenging questions employers ask. Further support is provided through the Career Services department during the program as well as after graduation. The door is always open at Robertson College with our Career Services department.
