BECOME A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
Robertson’s Pharmacy Technician program at our Brandon campus will prepare you to be a vital member of any pharmacy team. We take a hands-on approach to teaching and this provides our students with real experience and equips them with the skills necessary to succeed. Robertson College's Brandon campus provides small class environments and this allows students a greater opportunity to ask questions, participate in discussion and have instructors who actually know who they are. At Robertson, you’re an important individual, not a nameless spectator.
At the end of your program, you will participate in an eight-week work practicum. Once your practicum has been completed, Robertson’s Career Services will work with you to ensure you find employment after you graduate. Whether it’s after grad or twenty-five years down the road, Robertson’s Career Services will be there to help you with your career. Our Pharmacy Technician program will teach you how to:
Skillfully prepare medication inventories and compound medications
Calculate and determine proper dosages and dispense medications
Properly label and fill prescriptions
Provide necessary support to pharmacists with various duties
Effectively help patients drop off and pick up prescriptions
State-Of-The-Art Facilities, Hands-On Training
Robertson College Brandon has laboratories fully equipped to provide appropriate hands on training to the students. While in the lab, the students have the opportunity to practice preparation of sterile products in a working laminar air flow hood. They practice preparing non sterile products and dispensing medication in a simulated community pharmacy setting. Our students are provided with and trained to use various reference materials.
