The travel industry has evolved significantly over the past years but there is still a strong demand for travel professionals who have gone through formal education, know the industry inside and out and can provide expert advice. Today’s Travel Counsellors provide their clients with peace of mind - not only do they book flights and accommodations, they also arrange and manage travel logistics, airport transfers, group arrangements, insurance, special needs and travel documentation as well.
Travel means more than just arriving at your final destination, it is about creating an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. In the Robertson College Calgary Travel Counsellor program, you will learn to provide expert advice to your clients on all aspects of their journey.
As part of the Travel Counsellor program at Robertson College, you will:
You will have the opportunity to participate in a 1-week familiarization trip to experience for yourself the different aspects of the travel industry. Past destinations have included Cuba, Mexico, and Las Vegas.
You will also participate in a 4-week work practicum in a travel agency setting where you will gain valuable experience.
This program is recognized by the Association of Canadian Travel Counsellors (ACTA)
