Program Highlights

Travel means more than just arriving at your final destination, it is about creating an unforgettable experience from beginning to end.  In the Robertson College Winnipeg Travel Counsellor program, you will learn to provide expert advice to your clients on all aspects of their journey.

As part of the Travel Counsellor program, you will:

  • Learn to provide a comprehensive range of services including ground transportation bookings, domestic and international ticketing, hotel accommodation, marine travel, rail travel and more
  • Explore the travel agency setting and be familiarized with industry terminology, insurance coverage and all aspects of providing excellent customer service
  • Develop basic computer and keyboarding skills
  • Be trained in office procedures and useful business tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Earn your Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC) designation through the Association of Travel Counsellors (ACTA)
  • Receive a laptop computer to use for the duration of the program
  • Financial assistance is available to students who qualify

Travel Counsellor Program Practicum

You will have the opportunity to participate in a 1-week familiarization trip to a popular travel destination where you will get to experience first hand the different aspects of the travel industry.

You will also participate in a 4-week work practicum in a travel setting where you will gain valuable hands-on experience.

The Travel Counsellor Diploma Program is endorsed by the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) with a four-star endorsement. Graduates will enjoy:

- Reduced Certified Counsellor Knowledge Examination fees
- Reduced fees to enroll in the Certified Travel Counsellor program
- Complimentary Knowledge Exam Prep materials
- Eligibility for an 180-hour reduction in the number of occupational experience hours required for certification
