On May 7th, Robertson College will partner with the Calgary Surge to bring hundreds of students to the WinSport Event Centre.

Robertson College is proud to announce its partnership with the Calgary Surge in support of the 2nd Annual “Be Well” School Day Game“, an initiative designed to promote student well-being, resilience, and personal growth through sport.

Taking place on May 7, 2025, at WinSport Event Centre, the event will welcome junior high students from the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) to experience an immersive basketball game, featuring in-game educational messaging, wellness-focused pre-game activities, and player-led community engagement. The event aligns with CBE’s Student Well-Being Framework, ensuring that students leave with valuable insights on mental health, resilience, and community connectedness.

“The ‘Be Well’ School Day Game is more than just a basketball event—it’s a celebration of student well-being, teamwork, and community,” says Surge Vice President, Brand & Community, Jennifer Elias. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Robertson College to inspire young Calgarians, helping them understand the importance of education, health, and personal development through the power of sport.”

As a presenting partner, Robertson College is helping bring hundreds of students to the game while reinforcing its commitment to education, career development, and community engagement. Beyond game day, the partnership includes branding inside the arena, digital storytelling opportunities, and community-focused initiatives designed to further support young Albertans.

“At Robertson College, we believe that learning happens both inside and outside the classroom,” says Bill Ciprick, President and CEO. “By partnering with the Calgary Surge for their school day game, we are providing students with a unique opportunity to experience professional basketball, while learning valuable life skills that will support their education and career journeys.”

The 2025 “Be Well” School Day Game will feature:

  • Live in-game educational messaging focused on mental health, resilience, and inclusion.
  • Pre-game engagement activities for students, emphasizing well-being and teamwork.
  • In-game mentorship moments between players and students.
