Michael Boyd

Michael Boyd has over 20 years of experience working in Higher Education. In his current role as Manager of Career Services at our Winnipeg campus, Michael’s focus is on building and maintaining processes to ensure our students and graduates are being connected to local employers. Michael provides employer services that are tailored to the needs of each employer including connecting them to candidates, shortlisting candidates based on employer-defined criteria and organizing regular network and career events that provide employers with the opportunity to showcase their brand and connect with many qualified candidates in Health Care, Business and IT. Michael is also focused on securing valuable practicum placements for all of our students; giving them the opportunity to impress potential employers.

Michael is a strong believer in giving back to the community and volunteerism. He was a Board Member & Executive Committee Member for the Youth Employment Services for 12 years and was involved in the Organizing Committee for the Kidney Foundation of Canada Winnipeg Chapter’s Cyclothon event for a number of years. For the last number of years, he has organized corporate food drives and fundraised for Winnipeg Harvest’s Feeding Hungry Babies program.

Mona Klagenberg

Mona Klagenberg has acquired over 17 years of experience as a business professional.  For the past 8 years, Mona was employed in management-related roles where she was responsible for hiring various staffing positions.  

In her current role as an Employment Specialist, Mona works exclusively with the graduates of the Business and IT programs.  She will be able to use her knowledge to help coach graduates to become employment-ready by editing their resumes and cover letters, preparing them for job interviews, as well as assisting students to identify employment opportunities within their chosen field.  Mona finds it very rewarding working with students and helping them achieve their educational and career goals.

Emma Goncalves

Practicum Coordinator – Business / IT

Emma Goncalves has over 30 years of experience working in many industries including the insurance industry, IT, call center, manufacturing, retail and for global and small businesses.  She has a passion for knowledge and has been a student throughout her career, taking Accounting, Computer Programming, Project Management, and management courses.  As a Practicum Coordinator for the Business and Technology programs, she supports students by providing hands-on training in their field of study so that they may start their new careers with confidence.

Deborah McGregor

Health Care Clinical Coordinator

Deborah has over 30 years of experience working in the Health Care sector.  She has excelled in different positions including that of a Licensed Practical Nurse, Clinic Manager, Medical Office Assistant, and Health Care Aide Instructor/Practicum Coordinator. With increased passion and knowledge, Deborah was promoted to a Supervisory role with a local health care agency where she coordinated health care services by managing the needs of the clients, placing Health Care Aides in private homes and facilities.  

In her current role as a Health Care Clinical Coordinator, students are sure to benefit from the experience she has acquired.  Deborah provides valuable insight into the industry and is an effective mentor. She works with facility educators and clinical instructors to ensure hands-on training opportunities are maximized to students on their practicum.

Kristin Springer

Employment Specialist – Health and Allied Health

Kristin Springer has over 30 years of experience in the Health Care field as a Registered Nurse.  Her roles have primarily been related to the area of Palliative Care, but she has also been a part of assisting with education of students in HCA courses as well as student nurses, and interviewing potential new nurses for the Palliative Home program. Her last position was as a Palliative Care Coordinator with the local health region.

In her current role as Employment Specialist, Kristin works exclusively with graduates of the Health and Allied Health programs.
