Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is a highly specialized area of physiotherapy that assesses, treats and strengths the all-important muscles that line your pelvic floor. The muscles of the pelvic floor hold the pelvic organs in place. Pelvic floor physiotherapy can successfully evaluate the function of the urinary, bowel, and sexual components of the core when treating the following:
Jamie Wheaton, BMR-PT, is a physiotherapist with a focus on women and men's pelvic health. Since 2011, Jamie has travelled across Canada and the United States completing postgraduate training relating to urinary and bowel incontinence, sexual health and pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, menopause, prostate pain among the other dysfunctions for both men and women. Jamie also treats prenatal women for pelvic girdle pain, labour, and delivery preparations as well as postpartum recovery including abdominal separation and pelvic floor reconditioning. Jamie has been hosting and guiding lectures on pelvic function to hospital staff, physiotherapy colleagues, patients and mommy groups and labour support groups for many years and welcomes any opportunity to educate men and women on pelvic health.
