English & Culture Programs

It is essential for International students to develop a strong English language foundation in order to communicate and contribute effectively in a Canadian classroom. This intensive English language course will develop the learning strategies necessary for students to apply to English-language institutions and will further enable their success with future studies. Learning activities will focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening skills, as well as grammar, and vocabulary development. Students will gain the English proficiency necessary to excel in the classroom and beyond.

Intensive Academic English (IAE) Advanced

(12 weeks full-time)

This intensive language course is designed to help students reach the English proficiency necessary to apply to the International diploma programs at Robertson. We offer modern techniques using digital media and updated real world texts and videos. This along with small class sizes and cultural related activities create the opportunities necessary for students to actively participate in their learning.

The program runs Monday to Friday, 22-25 hours per week.

Intensive Academic English (IAE) Intermediate

This Intermediate language course focuses on the continued development of the skills needed to effectively communicate in English. We maintain smaller class sizes and use a new real-world approach in the Canadian context. Students in the intermediate English language level will work on improving their writing, reading, listening, speaking, vocabulary development, and grammar skills. Fun and meaningful cultural activities round out this language class.

The program runs Monday to Friday, 22-25 hours per week.

Professional and Academic Communication Excellence (PACE)

Next available start dates: April 15, June 24, and September 9, 2019

Professional and Academic Communication Excellence (PACE) is vital to career success. The PACE Program is designed to help students unlock the important communication skills necessary for academic and workplace success in the Canadian context. Students will learn techniques and skills for effective reading and listening fluency, impactful written and oral communication and professional interpersonal interactions. The program also is designed to help students develop cross-cultural competency that is critical for academic and workplace success in a multicultural society like Canada.
