What Happens After You Apply For a Robertson Program Online

The hard part is over — you’ve made a commitment to bettering yourself and your future by submitting an online application to attend Robertson College. Now what? Going back to school can be a stressful event, so we want to ensure the application process is as straightforward as possible and that you have a clear understanding of what happens after you hit ‘submit’. Below is a step-by-step guide to the process you can expect after submitting your online application.

      • Meet With Student Admissions Advisor

After you’ve expressed an interest in studying at Robertson via your online application, you can expect to hear from a Robertson Admissions Advisor. During your conversation with the Advisor (by phone, or in person), you will work together to determine what Robertson program makes the most sense for you given your interests, existing work and home life schedules, as well as any past education you may have received. You may come into your meeting with one program in mind, and your advisor may be able to suggest an option that is even better suited to the career path you’re looking to pursue. The other important conversation you will have during this meeting is regarding your preferred method of learning: either online learning or in-person at one of the Robertson College campuses. There are benefits to both and your Advisor will be able to help you select the option that’s right for you!

      • Outline Prerequisites

Once you’ve narrowed down a program, your Advisor will work with you to ensure you have the necessary prerequisites to meet the program’s entrance requirements. Not all of our programs require prior certification, but some do and our Advisors will be able to point you in the direction of a program that lines up with your past schooling. This is also the point in the application process where you will learn about additional support you can receive to enhance your learning at Robertson. For example, if you require English language classes, you Advisor will be able to connect you with the appropriate resources.

      • Sign Agreement

You’ve selected the program, determined if you will be completing your school online or in person, and discussed the necessary prerequisites. What next? This is when you will officially sign on to a learning agreement with Robertson. Again, this process can be done in person, as well as online. If you have concerns regarding the details of the agreement, your Advisor will be able to answer any questions so you can feel confident in your decision to learn with Robertson. Remember, you should be prepared to fully commit to your education before signing any agreements.

    • Connect with Financial Advisor

A Financial Advisor is the person who will outline different payment options available to you as a student of Robertson. They are well versed on the various funding methods out there and can work with you to develop a payment schedule that fits your financial situation. This may look like a monthly payment plan from a student line of credit, support in accessing government loan programs, or another option that you and your Advisor decide on.

  •

      • Orientation (Online)

For students enrolled in a Robertson online program, orientation will take place online shortly before you’re sent your course work. During your orientation session, an Advisor will walk you through the various electronic platforms you will be using throughout your program to review course material and submit assignments. Our Advisors will ensure that each online student feels confident in these new procedures before wrapping up the orientation session.

    • Orientation (Campus)

For students learning with Robertson at one of our campuses, orientation will take place during the first couple of hours on your first day of college. Orientation will consist of an Advisor or a Robertson instructor touring you and your classmates around the campus and answering any general questions you may have about your new surroundings. If you have additional questions after the session is complete, there are student centres located on each campus to provide ongoing support.

Hopefully, the above points have provided you with a clear understanding of the steps that take places after you apply online for college at Robertson. Our advisors are accessible via email and through our online chat function during regular business hours to answer any additional questions you may have regarding this process. There is absolutely no harm in submitting an online application and applying for college, even if you’re not 100% committed to returning to school. A Robertson Advisor will be able to provide you with all the options available to you so that you’re able to begin your education with confidence whenever the time is right.
