Frequently Asked Questions

Answering your top questions about Robertson's micro-credentials.

What is a micro-course?

Micro-courses are short, compact learning solutions to develop specific competencies, at a Self-Guided pace. They are condensed adaptations of proven full-length courses. Our flexible course format gives you the freedom to study where, when and how it works best for you – you set your own schedule.

How long do I have to complete a micro-course?

You have three months to complete a 10 hour micro-course, and 6 months for any micro-course longer than 10 hours. You will lose your progress and access to course contents once the timeline is up.

Are there set class times?

No, there are no set class times, start dates, or deadlines for assignments. Micro-courses are fully self-paced. You are welcomed to work at your own pace.

Are any micro-courses eligible for credit-transfer to Robertson’s Diploma programs?

Yes, If a learner completes Intro to Business, Intro to IT, or Intro to Community Services, they will be eligible for credit transfer provided the program they are interested in includes one of these courses. During their enrolment process, they would need to apply for credit transfer. Credit Transfer is also possible for Medical Term and Project Management. However, it is not possible for any of the 10 hour micros-courses.

What are the computer/system requirements?

You’ll access all your course materials and assignments through Brightspace, our online learning hub. Mac and Windows are both compatible to successfully access our Micro-Courses except for Bookkeeping and Quickbooks.
