Every program includes either a Career Preparation course or a Career Preparation component. Topics covered include resume development and interview preparation tied to your specific field, employer networking and how to build professional relationships before you need them, LinkedIn presence and digital professional identity, and the practical mechanics of job searching in your sector.

A practicum is real experience with real employers
Real employer sites
Healthcare students practicum at clinics, long-term care facilities, and hospitals. Business students practicum in offices and organizations, not simulated environments. The employer you practicum with may be your employer post-graduation.
Pathway to employment
A significant share of our employed graduates were hired by their practicum employer. Practicum is not just a box to check, it is your first real interview, running over weeks.
Every diploma program includes a practicum. In most programs it comes near the end, once you have the skills to contribute in a real workplace. Health care, early learning and childcare, early childhood education and nursing assistant programs build in several shorter practicums throughout the program.

What happens if I don't find a job right after graduation?
Your Workforce support doesn't expire when you graduate. Your advisor keeps working with you on interview prep, employer introductions, and your job search for as long as it takes to get you placed. Most graduates land a role quickly, and the support stays in your corner well past your final day of class.
How does Workforce help with a career change specifically?
Career changers are a big part of who Robertson trains. Your Career Services Course is built around the sector you're moving into, so it focuses on the skills, employers, and hiring expectations in that field instead of generic job-search advice. Your advisor helps you reframe the experience you already have and connects you with employers in your new industry.
Is there an extra cost for Workforce support?
No. Workforce is built into every program, not a service you pay for separately. The Career Services Course, your advisor, practicum placement where applicable, and post-graduation support are all part of your program from day one. There's no upgrade or add-on fee to access any of it.
