Frequently Asked Questions on Brightspace

Q1) How do I find my Brightspace login information?

A1) Your login information was emailed to your @robertsoncollege.net email account. For additional resources on how to login to your account, visit the Brightspace Help Login FAQs.


Q2) I did not receive an email with my login information. Who do I contact?

A2) Try checking your email’s spam folder. If there is no email, please contact [email protected] and provide the following information: 

  • First and last name
  • Campus of study
  • Student ID number
  • @robertsoncollege.net email address


Q3) What is the link to Brightspace?

A3) The link is https://robertson.brightspace.com.


Q4) How do I get help with Brightspace?

A4) You can click on the ‘Get Brightspace Help’ icon once you are logged into Brightspace.  You can also click on the ‘Contact Support’ link on the navigation bar within a course.

Q5) Who can see the Student Sandbox? Is it just for me to practice using Brightspace?

A5) The Student Sandbox is a public offering that all students from all Robertson campuses have access to.

Q6) How do I set up my profile and settings (timezone, notifications, preferences)?

A6) After logging into Brightspace, click on your name in the top right corner and choose to edit your Profile, Notifications or Accounts Settings.

 

Questions on Attendance

Q1) How will my instructor know if I am attending?

A1) Your instructor will connect with you in “real-time” using the Virtual Classroom and Chat Tools. Your instructor will also ask you to complete and return assignments during the class.  Your instructor can also view your progress on tasks within Brightspace. You may also view your course progress at any time.

Q2) What if my Internet cuts out during class time? 

A2) Download the Brightspace Pulse App and access the course on your cell using cell data until your Internet connection is clear. You can then email your instructor to let them know of the disruption.

 

Learning

Q1) What will the class format be?

A1) Your instructor will start the class by checking in with you using the Virtual Classroom or Chat Tool. Your instructor may then present some slides and materials.  Your instructor will then assign a task or activity for you to complete and ask you to reconvene after a specific amount of time. You may need to share the material with the class, post on the Discussion Board, complete a practice quiz or participate in a Chat. Your instructor will end the session by having you submit a response to a final question or prompt.

Q2) Where will I find the class materials?

A2) You can find the course materials by clicking on the ‘Classroom’ in the navigation bar. Next, click on the ‘Classroom’ tab underneath the Table of Contents.  You will then be able to see all modules which will contain all your course materials.

Q3) My instructor scheduled a test; how do I take it in Brightspace?

A3) Your instructor will set the test up in Brightspace using Quizzes. Learn more about Quizzes by watching the video tutorial found here.
