Edmonton Stingers and Robertson College Team Up to Support Local Youth with “Kicks for Kids” Initiative

quick answer

In partnership with Robertson College, this season the Edmonton Stingers Foundation will donate $50 for every 3-pointer made this season to help get new basketball shoes to young athletes in Edmonton.

The Edmonton Stingers and Robertson College are joining forces to give back to young athletes facing financial barriers through the Kicks for Kids program, an initiative designed to provide footwear to children who may not otherwise have access to proper shoes for sports and recreation.

The program, run in partnership with Robertson College and Sport Central, ensures that youth across Edmonton can stay active, confident, and engaged in their communities.

“Basketball is more than just a game—it’s about opportunity, confidence, and inclusion,” says Jordan Baker, Edmonton Stingers Head Coach and General Manager. “Through Kicks for Kids, we’re able to make sure every child has access to proper footwear so they can play, grow, and develop a love for the game.”

As the presenting sponsor of Kicks for Kids, Robertson College is helping the Stingers expand the reach of this initiative, ensuring that even more young athletes have the shoes they need to step onto the court with confidence.

“Sports and education go hand in hand when it comes to shaping futures,” says Bill Ciprick, President and CEO. “At Robertson College, we believe that removing barriers to participation—whether in school or in sports—can have a life-changing impact. We’re honored to work with the Stingers to help kids feel supported in their athletic and personal growth.”

In addition to its support of Kicks for Kids, Robertson College’s sponsorship will include in-arena branding, digital promotions, and fan engagement activations, deepening its presence in Edmonton’s vibrant basketball community.
