In order to plan and manage events successfully, students require knowledge and exposure to the fundamentals in event management which includes the management of timelines, budgets, marketing, media and understanding the different impacts of an event. This course provides students with an overview of the event management industry as well as fundamental knowledge and skills required to design, plan and manage a variety of events such as corporate meetings, festivals, professional conferences, not-for-profit events, galas, brand experiences, trade shows and more. Students will also understand the different impacts of successfully planned and executed events.

- Define Key legal and contractual elements involved in designing and planning events
- Describe how to manage event funding and budget for events and utilize software to manage events
- Identify how to utilize the media in event promotion, and manage marketing and sponsorship plans

- Identify the different impacts an event can have and the importance of evaluating an event.

The course and its content maybe of special interest to professionals who have some basic event coordination experience who are interested in further developing their skills; professionals who regularly plan team or business events as part of their current role; or professionals who are new to event planning, but would like to learn more.

Refund Policy
Refunds will only be considered when requested within two weeks of the date of registration and for learners who have not completed more than 25%.
- Days 1-7 after registration; learners will be eligible for a full refund if they have not completed more than 25%.
- Days 8-14 after registration; learners will be eligible for a refund minus $50.00 administration fee if they have not completed more than 25%.
- No refund will be issued for learners who have completed more than 25% within two weeks following their registration.
- No refund will be issued for learners after the two weeks following their registration.
- To be eligible for a refund, students must submit an email request to the Micro Course Team at [email protected] within the specified timeframe.
Course Access Duration
Learners are able to complete this course at their own speed up to a maximum of six (6) months. At the six (6) month expiry, any learner who has yet to complete the course will be unenrolled, leading to loss of access.
