How It Works

What it’s like to be a hybrid learning student.

Attend online classes.

Part of your classes will be held online, through Brightspace, our online learning platform. You will attend scheduled virtual classes with your peers and be able to meet with your instructor and classmates virtually through online discussion boards, instant messages and video calls.

Study on location.

Part of your classes will be hosted on-campus in a real classroom setting. Your labs will involve hands-on activities and training in small classes – so you’ll still get plenty of one-on-one time with your instructors for questions.

Only certain programs offer hybrid learning.

Our School of Health and School of Community Services are the only schools that offer hybrid learning for their programs. You’ll also have to live near Winnipeg, Calgary or Edmonton in order to attend your on-campus sessions.

Know you’re never alone.

You’ll have constant support from your instructors, both on-campus and virtually. Our Workforce Team offers lifelong career support, so you’ll have extra support throughout your time on campus and beyond.

What makes hybrid learning great?

We’ve invested in new initiatives to enhance the student experience.

Instruction delivered in the formats that make the most sense

Some lessons can easily be learned through independent study while others are best learned in a classroom under the supervision of your instructors. With hybrid learning, you get the best of both worlds – the flexibility of online learning complemented by valuable in-person time with your instructors and peers.

The Junction: our new co-working space

Coming this Spring: the Junction is a space for students to gather and collaborate, share ideas and find a sense of community at Robertson. It’s important that our students can gather in a safe space that follows public health protocols.

Engagement Hours

Engagement Hours are our form of office hours. These scheduled blocks of time allow students to connect with their instructors, whether it be for help with an assignment, get career advice or insight on their industry.
