So which information technology courses do we offer? Between campuses in Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg, along with online diploma programs, we’re proud to offer five programs at our School of Technology.

Computer Support Technician
The Computer Support Technician program will give you the skills to deal with customers and troubleshoot IT issues. You’ll take a business communication course that will teach you how to best support customers, diagnose IT problems and effectively walk customers through solutions to their problems. The 24-week program will also help you develop foundational knowledge in PC hardware, software concepts and Windows client configuration.
Students who take the Computer Support Technician program will have the opportunity to build their skills during a compulsory 3-week full-time practicum in the industry.

After completing the program, Computer Support Technician grads can find careers as user support technicians, PC support analysts, installation technicians and computer help desk representatives.

Help Desk Support Technician
In the Help Desk Support Technician program, you’ll learn the skills needed to manage, maintain and support corporate networks, computer systems and software applications.
It’s a fairly fast-paced program with a focus on practical training in both hardware and software. You’ll also get valuable hands-on learning to help translate large amounts of information into actual tasks you can expect to carry out in the workplace.
Your courses will cover a range of topics including Windows client configuration of Windows 7 and Windows 10 in a business environment and an introduction to the fundamentals of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). You’ll also learn foundations in PC hardware and software concepts which will prepare you to complete the CompTIA 220-901 and 220-902 certification exams.
At Robertson, we require students to complete a mandatory 4-week, full-time practicum to take the skills and knowledge they’ve learned throughout the program out of the classroom and into the real world. This work experience is incredibly valuable for students when looking for a job after graduation.

Network Systems Administrator
The Network Systems Administrator program prepares you for success as a skilled IT professional. You’ll learn basic concepts of computer hardware and operation and develop a deep knowledge of operating systems installation. The year-long course includes a 4-week, full-time practicum where you’ll apply the concepts and skills you’ve developed during the program in an industry setting.
One of the best parts of the program? It incorporates content from a number of industry certifications and will prepare you for challenging certification exams including CompTia A+ 220-1001 and 220-1002, Microsoft Windows 10 MD-100, Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching 100-105 and 200-105 among others.

Upon graduation, students can find jobs in a variety of roles including computer network technicians and system, network and infrastructure administrators.

Full Stack Web Developer
If you’re looking for a fast-paced and challenging career, have solid communication skills and are interested in being part of the entire lifecycle of an application, our Full Stack Web Developer program might be the one for you. During this 37-week course, we’ll teach you the foundational knowledge and skills needed for front-end development, server-side programming, testing, database systems and user experience design. Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared to join a team of developers, business analysts, project managers and product owners to apply fundamental programming concepts and write software programs.
The courses are evenly divided among core concepts and skill sets including Java programming, relational databases and SQL, C# programming and more. Students will also complete 120 practicum hours in a developer role.

Network Security Technician
For many companies, creating and maintaining a secure network is incredibly important for their business. That’s where our Network Security Technician diploma program comes in. In this year-long course, you’ll quickly become an expert in all things Internet security including Cloud management, intrusion detection, break-in response, network damage assessment and cyber crime solutions. You’ll also become familiar with the Linux operating system, Microsoft Windows applications and will develop professional business communication and customer service skills.
The program incorporates content from a number of industry certifications that you’ll be able to challenge including the SY0-401 exam to become CompTIA Security+ certified.
