Have you ever read a research paper or report wishing for some visual context of what you are reading? And the subsequent moment of clarity when you finally come across a graph and everything you had previously read now makes perfect sense? The importance of a graph is its ability to translate large amounts of data into something that is easy to comprehend.

It’s hard to think of an industry nowadays that would not benefit from using data and making numbers more understandable.

Why visualize data? It is a good way to communicate complex information, because humans are highly visual beings, evolved to spot patterns and make visual comparisons.
