The Intro to Business micro-course will give you a broad overview of the business industry. Learn how external factors like government, economics, information technology, global trends, human resources and production play into Canadian business. By the time you’re done, you’ll understand the importance of entrepreneurship, know the various aspects that make up a business enterprise and how they relate to each other and result in successful businesses. Whether you’re currently in a business role or want to get into the industry, this micro-course could be for you!
Intro to Community Services
Length: 40 hours completed at your own pace

If you love helping others, the Intro to Community Services micro-course (and the community services field in general) could be a great fit for you! You’ll learn about social programs and services, effective social work practices and how to personalize care for people with different life situations. This course is focused on giving students a broad knowledge of both social work practices and different populations so they’re prepared to handle a variety of cases in the field. This is a great fit if you’re already a community services professional or want to gain a baseline before enrolling in a full diploma program.
Intro to IT

In our Intro to IT micro-course, you’ll develop a basic understanding and competence in Information and Communications Technology. You’ll learn about hardware, software and fundamental programming principles and be able to apply your skills using pseudocode and flowcharts. This course is great for professionals and those who have never programmed before as you’ll get hands-on experience using the languages and concepts you learn in the course.
Intro to e-Commerce

In Intro to e-Commerce, you’ll gain the knowledge to start your own e-business or become a valuable member of an established e-business team. Structured Programming in Java

Interested in programming but don’t know where to start? Structured Programming in Java is perfect for you! You’ll get an introduction to Java development solutions and structures including constants, variables, conditional logic, looping and user input/output methods. Medical Terminology

In our Medical Terminology micro-course, you’ll build a great foundation for a career in healthcare. By the end of the course, you’ll become proficient in understanding and using medical terminology. Our instructors will use a word-building approach so you learn how to accurately generate and interpret medical abbreviations, prefixes, suffixes, combining forms, symbology and more. Web Development Basics

If you’re interested in development but don’t know where to start, Web Development Basics is your answer. This beginner-level course will give you the fundamental skills to code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Throughout the course, you’ll design and build a website with the skills you learn as the course progresses. By the end, you’ll develop HTML 5 web pages, organize a page’s content with lists, tables, figures and organizational elements and manipulate images, audio and video. This is a great starter online course if you’re wanting to pursue a career in web development.
Professionalism in Times of Uncertainty
